O. & C. Land Entry Attracting Locators With applications for entry on the Oregon & California Land Grants to be opened June 22nd next, many land lookers h a v e been in this community within the past few weeks, as some of t h e choicest agricultural a n d grazing claims lie within a radius of fifteen miles of Estacada. In the Upper Garfield, Dodge, Elwood, Sandy, George a n d Dover country, nearly one half of the raw land is open for such entries, with a few places lying within a mile of Estacada. E s t a c a d a and neighboring trading centers cannot help but profit by this land opening, for all settlers are required to reside on their property during seven months out of the year and their supplies, implements etc. wi l l naturally be purchased from the nearest trading point. R. H. Currin of Currinsville is now employed near Bull Run in connection with t h e guarding of the Bull Run pipe line, hand ling work similar to that being done by his neighbor, H e n r y Githens.
