War Cookery Class Announcement It was not the fault of the News t h a t further ar.nounce ment of the day and hour for the first meeting o f the War Cookery Class at the Estacada high school was not given, for the sponsors of the movement forgot to ad vise us. As a result but seven women a te ded the first demonstration. with many more ha\ing planned to attend, had they been advised o f the hour of the meeting. For fear some of the taxpayers have not discovered the notice of the annual set oo. meet.ng o f Es- tacada district No. 108, which is legally posted on some te.ephone pole in the district, the News will herewith give said notice a nttle additional free advertising, ft r even one should br reminded of this meeting. This event will take place Mon day evening next at the school auditorium and should be weil attended, for severa, matters of importance are to be considered as well as the election o f two board members. J. W. Keed w ill prooably be a candidate for re-e.ection. but no otr.er candidates have been men tioned to uate. School in district No. 50 closed last Friday, tne t e a c h e r and pupiis celebrating the event with a picnic near Deep Creek.
