The statement in Tuesday’s Ore
gonian that Wm. M. Pale of Esta
cada, had been honorably discharged
from the U. S. Army service, for a
time greatly worried hi? friends and
relatives here.
Bui it is now presumed that this
honorable discharge applied to his
relation as a draftee registrant in the
tegular army, as Will, after register
ing, enlisted and was accepted in the
Reserve Medical Corps, and has late
ly received his commission as a sec-
o d lieutenant, being stationed at
Camp Lewis.
The Tw elfth Annual Clacka
mas County Fair is to be held at

As horse racing will not be a
feature o f the fair this season,
it is expected more money will
be available for p r i z e s in the

thereby stimulating m u r e and
better exhibits from the farmers.

Library Support Needed
It has been suggested t h a t
some of the outlying districts of
this community, through their
(1 range, I i nternal or social organ
ization should aid in the I'.nancing
and maintenance o f the Estacada
Public Library
This worthy institution, which
today is serving readers in a 11
districts w ¡ t h i n a radius of
seven or eight miles o f Estacada,
was founded and has been main
tained through the efforts of the
Estacada C i v i c Improvement
Club ladies and the financing of
same at times lias been an ardu
ous and thankless task.

this library is not a heavy o n e
