Whitcomb of District 49 of Garfield made a trip to Or egon City last Saturday to obtain additional funds for the comple tion of the crushed rock road on the Davis-Divers Road, passing the Grange Hall. About one hundred yards still remains to be completed, which will cost about $225 and but $100 was found to the credit of that road district. This $100 will be spent in laying the rocked foun dation, which will assure a pass able road for this winter, and by Spring, if not sooner, the crushed rock top will be laid, possibly be ing done by volunteer labor or on warrants payable in 1918. Currinsville Roads Will Be Smooth With Albert Kitching, the pop ular road supervisor of the Cur rinsville district, now an owner and opeiator of a new Ford car, purchased from the Estacada Garage last week, no longer will there even be a small bump in the Estacada-Currinsville Road. Supervisor Kitching deserves special credit also for the interest he is taking in safeguarding trav el on his roads, having lately re moved all trees and brush* from the south end of the Eagle Creek bridge approach, besides having cut down the embankment. Sim ilar work will be done in cutting down the embankment on the Taylor hill on the same road, thus rendering those formerly dan gerous curves, as safe as a straight road.
