This is not altogether true of our com

CLEAN UP-DAY MAY 1ST
Soldiers Promise Aid In W ork
Tuesday, May 1st, has been
suggested as the date for Estaca-
da’s annual Clean-Up-Day, with
the usual holiday and general co
operation o f all residents in the
work.
The need o f the annual clean
up in Estacada is more than ap
parent this year and with weather
permitting the most thorough
job ever done, should result from
this year’s efforts.
Capt. Hulse o f Company D.,
Third Oregon Infantry, now sta
tioned with part o f his men at
Estacada, has promised to aid in
the work, unless some unforseen
obstacles should prevent.
Capt. Hulse says that Company
1). has had ample experience in
town-cleaning, having last year
thoroughly cleaned and made
sanitary. Palm City, California,
where the company was stationed
during the border encampment.
Capt. Hulse and his men seem
eager to aid the local residents
in the work and as sanitary clean
ups are a part of the army duties.
Estacada will be fortunate in ob
taining the cooperatioi^of the
soldiers, with its resulting mili
tary, sanitary cleaning.
As usual, it is planned to serve
a big dinner at noon, with the
women o f the town being asked
to aid, as they have so willingly
in the past.

ested are especially urged to be
