Messrs. Devore ami Adix of Esta­
cada was appointed to draft a
resolution, asking the County
Court for financial aid in the im­
provement of the Dover or Doug­
lass Hill Road in upper Eagle
Creek; the Trachsel cut-off road
in Springwater and other im­
portant trade arteles.
The meeting informally con­
sidered several other important
matters, with suggestions on
further work to be attempted.
These dinner-meetings are open
to any business man or farmer
in this community and all are in­
vited to join in the work of the
club. The committee in charge
of next Monday nights meeting
is Harry C. Reid and E. W. Bart­
lett of Estacada and all parties
intending to be present are asked
to notify one or the other of
these men, as dinner reservations
have to be made in advance, the
expense being 35c per plate.
Clyde Saling of Currinsville is
still making regular trips to the
county seat, where he is on the
petit-jury, which is holding a
long session.

Wm. Wood of Barton met with
a bad accident Monday, when he
fell under the wheels of a wood-
rack which he was driving, his
head being run over by one of
the wheels.
Mr. Wood, who lives near the
approach to the Barton bridge,
in some way was jounced from
the wagon seat and in jumping
caught his foot in the reins,
throwing him under the wheels.
Dr. Adix of Estacada, who at­
tended the patient, found that
no bones were broken, but the
jaw bone was badly wrenched
and the muscles of the face and
head severely gashed.

Eaden these days, as Mr. Eaden
had a break down enroute to
Portland recently, which kept
him and his truck away from
home for several days.
Mrs. M. LaCroy is visiting her
daughter Mrs. David Miller of
McMinnville.
Earl Shibley of Springwater is
building the fire place in the new
Vallen home in Elwood.
