E agle C reek Notes D elivering the Bull by A uto Contributed A mistake was made by the correspondent last week in writ ing up the news about Gus Burnett selling ten acres of land to Mr. Fuchs, it was not a part of the Gus. Burnett place which Mr. Fuchs purchased, but a portion of the tract formerly be longing to Mr. Horger. Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Woodle cal led on Mrs. Howlett last Wed nesday. Mrs. R. B. Bibson entertained the Helping Hand last Wednes day afternoon. The club will meet with Mrs. Walter Douglass, Jan. 3, 1916. Mrs. H. S. Jones of Portland was visiting with her mother, Mrs. Viola Douglass, recently. Mr. Dhulst, with the help of Ray Woodle, has been busy haul ing potatoes to the car. Mr. and Mrs. Naylor called on Mr. and Mrs. Will Douglass Sun day. Miss Edna Kennedy, the teach er, is making preparations to give a Christmas entertainment at the school house, on Thursday eve ning Dec. 21st. Johnny Duus was calling at the home of his sister, Mrs. Walter Douglass Sunday. D. Beckett was out to the farm the first of the week, returning to Portland on Monday evening. Dick Gibson made a trip to Bar ton Monday. Dick Githens was canvassing the neighborhood Monday, taking orders for aluminum ware, silver ware, books, etc. Harry Hart, the pastor of the U. B. Church of Oregon City is holding meetings this week in the Elwood district. As an example of the up-to- dateness of present herding and round-up facilities e mp l o y e d ! locally, last Wednesday morning, Dockey Palmateer of Garfield drove through Estacada in an automobile, with a rope behind leading a big Holstein bull to the stock yards. The bull seemed to offer no ob jections to this latest innovation, acting as though he preferred that means of escort, in prefer ence to the usual wild-west, cow boy style. This bull was but one of a number of animals shipped from the Estacada yards Wednesday by buyer Givens, a mixed car load of hogs and cattle being loaded. 1 j i i Watch For Announcement Next Week which will be o f prim e im portance to you.
