Mail Service Upset A slight delay occured last Fri­ day in the mail delivery on Route 1 out o f Estacada, owing to the frolicksomeness o f Carrier De- moy’ s mule, which after taking fright at a passing motorcycle, upset the cart, carrier and con­ tents, on the Taylor Hill in Cur- rinsville. As the lines were tied to the seat and the seat was broken off, the mule, lines and seat were cor­ ralled near Yount’ s store and turned over to their owner, who has since been severely disciplin­ ing his steed. Bank Bids In Paving Bonds With the legal phases o f the Estacada bond issue, for the pav­ ing o f Broadway, satisfactorily passed upon by Portland bond at­ torneys this week, the bid o f the Estacada State Bank, has been ac­ cepted and the money paid over. The successful bid amounted to par, plus$l. and accrued interest, subject to the satisfactory report o f a recognized bond attorney as to their legality. More Residents Appeal To Law Believing that the only remedy to settle minor controversies, lies in bringing their cases before a Justice Court, two suits are now underway, one between O. P. Ca- iiff o f Garfield and Chris John­ son of George over a disagree­ ment on a potato deal and the other between Will Kaake and Jas. Smith o f Estacada over the settlement o f a wood contract.
