E. H. S. E choes Contributed In administering the famous “ Wagner Flops’’, to one of the Milwaukie players, Otis Wagner our well known foot-ball star, was so serionsly injured that he will be out of the game for the rest of the season. We regret very much the loss of Wagner, as he has been the “ back-bone” of the team for the last two years. We are sorry to report the ill ness of Harold Young who is suffering from an attack of pneumonia. This temporary loss of “ Professor" as he is common ly called, is felt by the foot-ball team as well as the school. With Wagner and Young out of the game, gloom prevails in E. H. S. over the chances for victory against the fast Camas, Wash, team, which we will meet on the athletic field here next Saturday. The Adelphic Literary Society rendered a very interesting program last Thursday afternoon. Alta and Alpha Hinman will enter the High School as Juniors this week. One of the Juniors who will try out for oratory and debate, went to Portland, Sat. to study from material in the city library. An enjoyable surprise party was given last Thursday evening by the Order of the Eastern Star, in honor of the birthday of Miss Eva Wash of Estacada. Make no other arrangements for Thanksgiving night, for ev eryone is invited to the opening C. I. C Dance at the Estacada Pavilion. Madison, the Oregon City real estate dealer, who lives at Meldrum station, and who has a wide acquaintance throughout Clackamas county, has been a neighbor of C. VV. Risley, demo cratic candidate for county com missioner, and he is doing every thing that he can to aid in t he election of Mr. Risley, because he considers the latter one of ihe best qualified men in the county to have in the court house. Mr. Madison says that the better ac quainted one b e c o m e s with Charles Risley, the more they appreciate the worth and sterling qualities of trie man. He counts the people of Clackamas county as indeed fortunate in having the opportunity to vote for such a man, one who can be depended upon to give the county his best efforts as a commissioner just as he has done in the matter of road supervisor, where his roads are the envy of ail other supervisors of the county. Ed Boner of Estacada, among his collection of photos of local scenes, has a fine picture of the E. H. S. football squad, which should he an ornament to every student’s room. B y J. H . W. Risley Mr. Madison says: “ Having been a neighbor of Charles and also having had more or less business relationship with him, I count him as one of the squarest and most upright citi zens that 1 ever dealt with. He has made a success of his own affairs, handling them in a man ner that proves him a business man of keen insight into all mat ters. and 1 feel that as county commissioner he would be able to bring to the taxpayers such management of county affairs us would spell not only economy, but also the greatest and most lasting results at a minimum of expense. 1 have no hesitancy in saying that I feel the taxpayers will be making a grave misiake if they do not elect Mr. Risley, when a man of his ability and standing is willing to heed the call of his neighbors and friends to run for an office which does not begin to renumerale him fi r time and labor spent. Clacka mas count' has no better citizen nor one who is more vitally inter ested in its welfare and he shout1 beelected by a rousing majority. ’’ (Paid Advertisement)
