Three auto loads, containing
Mr. and Mrs. John Stormer and
son and Mr. and Mrs. Will Bard
in the latter's Dodge car; Mr. and
Mrs. Loren Tenny and family in
their Ford car and John Lovelace
and family in his Dodge machine,
returned recently from a ten
days outing, during which time
they visited many of the coast
resorts.
The party made the trip via
Oregon City, Sherwood, The
Grande Ronde Reservation and
Dolph to Pacific Citv. where
they visited J. C. Peterson and
wife of Springwater. who are
summering there.
The return trip was via Seaside.
Tillamook, Astoria and the Co
lumbia Highway to Portland.
As the weather conditions were
perfect, the roads in fine shape
and all machines ran like clocks,
the trip was an enjoyable one
for all.
F. D. Hunt, traffic manager of
the P. R. L. & P. Co. and his
brother, of the claim department
of the O. W. R. & \ Co. were
Kstacnda business visitors one
day last week.
Reports are received from all
sections of having being well
along and threshing outfits begin
ning work.

been spending his vacation with
his parents.
Wilma and Lillian Duncan of
Garfield are visiting with Marie

Githens this week.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beers
rented a place of W. J. Furnish
of Portland. The place joins
that of John Githens. Mr. and
Mrs. Beers are now living in
their new home.
On returning to the house
after a few hours absence last
Sunday, John Githens and family
found that their house had been'
ransacked and found several
things missing. Among the
things that were taken were
several spring chickens, three
hams of meat and some butter
and eggs. The thieves would
probably have done more damage
had not Wilbur Wade and Chas
Duncan come along at that time
and frightened them away al
though Mr. Wade and Mr. Dun
can did not suspicion them as be
ing robbers or they would have
taken the number of their car,
which was a Saxon.
