Wilma and Lillian Duncan of Garfield are visiting with Marie Heiple this week. ('has Duncan of Garfield pur chased a Lincoln ram from John Githens this week. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beers rented a place of W. J. Furnish of Portland. The place joins that of John Githens. Mr. and Mrs. Beers are now living in their new home. On returning to the house after a few hours absence last Sunday, John Githens and family found that their house had been' ransacked and found several things missing. Among the things that were taken were several spring chickens, three hams of meat and some butter and eggs. The thieves would probably have done more damage had not Wilbur Wade and Chas Duncan come along at that time and frightened them away al though Mr. Wade and Mr. Dun can did not suspicion them as be ing robbers or they would have taken the number of their car, which was a Saxon.
