Robinson Family Moving East Mr. and Mrs. Harry Robinson and family, who for the past three years have rented the Hewitt farm in Garfield, are this week leaving for the east, where they will make their future home. Mrs. Robinson, daughter and youngest child are leaving Friday for Elk City, Kansas, where she will visit her parents for a time; while Mr. Robinson and the boys are going to Dakota, Minnesota and Michigan, in one of which states they contemplate locating, as Mr. Robinson prefers the raising of grain rather than pur suing the diversified farming of Oregon. The leaving of the Robinson family will be loss to the Garfield section, where they have made many friends and always taken an active partin the community’s social life. ______ W. B. Simmons or Estacada left Saturday for a few days fishing trip on the upper waters of the Clackamas, going as far as the Cary Hot Springs, where he will meet Mrs. Simmons, who with a party of Estacada women left for the springs early last week. __ R. G. Marchchbank of Estaca da returned Friday from a few days business and pleasure trip at Hood River, where he escorted his mother, who will make a few weeks visit at the home of her son, J. A. Marchbank. The members of the Estacada Tennis Club gave an enjoyable dance and party in Estacada Park Iasi Saturday evening, the guests of honor being Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Trowbridge of Esta cada, who are leaving soon for San Francisco, where they will make thei»- future home. Chapman Estacada, Oregon Percy Bleteh of Springwater purchased a seven horse-power Excelsior motorcycle, last week, with which he expects to cover the Springwater-Estacada run in record breaking, but not speed- law violating, time. Beginning Saturday, August 19th at the Estacada Family Theatre, the famous Pathe serial film the “ Red Circle” will be shown. This serial, which is considered superior to “Neal of The Navy” and other popular screen attrac tions, consists of 14 episodes, each episode a complete story in itself and collectively represent ing a thrilling, well staged and well acted narrative. On the opening night, August 19th, the admission price will he 5c to everybody and with the “ Red Circle” films, will be shown five reels in all, including the Pathe News. Mrs. J. W. The Civic Improvement Club’s library committee announces the purchase last week of twenty or more new books, most of them be ing juvenile works, for boys and girls between the ages of eight and sixteen, with a few volumes appealing especially to men. Wan s To Lease Farm A farmer from the other side of the county called at the News’ office last week, to inquire if there were any farms in this vi cinity for rent. This man had spent several days in looking around locally and had only found two leaseable pro perties, but both of them were too far away from the Estacada High School, to allow of his chil dren attending there. Any party having a farm of from 40 to 120 acres for rent, lying within a radius of four or five miles from Estacada. kindly notify this office and the party wishing to rent, will call and in spect the properly. Local Theatre Adopts Standard Features Manager Sparks of the Estaca da. Family Theatre announces that beginning next Thursday evening, August 17th, they will show only the Standard Feature film Company’s productions, with five reels shown at each perform ance and two shows per evening. Next Thursday night’s program will consist of a laugh making movie cartoon, entitled "Doc Yak Fights Skeeters” a three reel drama, “ When Men Hate” and a comedy called “The Cheap, est Way”. Admission price 5c and 10c. One of the most attractive win dow displays in Estacada these days, consists of the collection of photographs in the window of the Boner store. Since Ed Boner has joined the ranks of the amateur photographers and i s handling cameras and supplies, he has tak en many good photos of local scenes, people, hall teams and the like, which photos are on exhi bition.
