Nearly every newspaper pub lisher in the state will be in at tendance, with the majority of the Clackamas County papers represented An especially attractive pro- grans has been ar anged, among the speakers being the leading publishers of metropolitan daily and rural weekly papers. An other special feature of interest to the scribes and their wives, is the program including auto trips to (’.rater Lake, Ashland and over the California line, with ban quets and dinners galore. All delegates are the guests of the citizens of the city of Med ford and Jackson County, even guests to the extent of free hotel accomodations. While this is a first-class advertising move on the part of the Medford citizens, it offers a treat ihat never will be forgotten by the fortunate news r presentatives. If a few more collections come in between now and Friday and all goes well. Estacada will be closed to traffic. Engineers Ewing andScupham Tuesday surveyed and established the grade for the concret paving, work on which will begin within a week by contractor Pesznecker. While the actual work will take about two weeks to complete, the proper curing of the cement, ac cording to the specifications will consume a matter of thirty days longer. It is probable that all plank sidewalks abutting the concrete paving will be replaced with ce ment, so that when the business thoroughfare is open again, it will present as fine an appearance as any in the county. The Union Services at the Zion Church, Sunday, Aug. 6th, will start promptly at 10 o’clock, and for the benefit of those wishing to attend, autos will be at the M. E. and Christian Churches at 9:30.
