To the Public:
Estacada, Oregon. July 7, 1916
The undersigned having just finished the construction of a
residence for Dr. Wells in Estacada. Or. takes pleasure in express
ing the satisfaction he feels in the Plumbing and Electric Wiring
done by Mr. C. C. Miller of this city in the said dwelling.
I have found Mr. Miller a capable and conscientious man, who
has. in order to give thorough satisfaction, done more and in a num
ber of instances furnished better fixtures than his contract called for.
Both myself and Dr. Wells are well pleased with his work and
desire to let the public know it. We can recommend Mr. Miller as
a fair and honest workman whose aim seems to be to do more rather
than less to make a job satisfactory and right.
Respectfully, Ed. W. Misener
Walt Givens claims they never
intended to leave for Turner,
Oregon, to attend the state con
vention of the Christian Church,
until this week, but the News
chronicled the fact last week,
supposing the convention was
then in progress.
Anyway, Mr. and Mrs. Givens
and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Drill are
supposed to be at Turner now,
where Mr. Givens is taking a
leading part on the program, in
cluding a well learned speech
with gestures, which the editor
had the pleasure of hearing re
hearsed in the rear of the feed
store early this week. With the
exception of the speech, all
are expected back home the lat
ter part of this week or the early
part of next.
Annual Cherry Feast
Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Currin of
Currinsville last Sunday after
noon entertained about thirty
friends at their annual cherry
eating feast, when the big tree
in the front yard yielded its bush
els of ripe fruit for the benefit
of the guests, with only its leaves
and a few broken branches as
mementoes of the yearly feast.
As usual, this lawn event was
enjoyed by all, including the chil
dren and grown-ups, all entering
into the proper spirit of the oc
casion. with the subsequent Mon
day’s wash full of fruit stained
dresses, collars and waists.
