Eliminate Carbon By Using
The Estacada Cannery is now I
in operation, with the whistle]
tooting three times per day, re-1
minding Estacada that it has an |
industry, with more to follow.
Even moie welcome than th e 1
toot of the whistle, was the re
ceipt this week by manager D em -1
ing of several big fat orders for
canned goods, amounting to over,
$1100.00 worth, one order alone
catling for nearly a half carload i
for a branch of the National B is-!
cuit Company. More orders are
in sight and if all goes per sched-
ule, the Estacada Cannery should
prove a success.

Wool Buyers Back Down
An aggregation o f indignant .
] farmers were gathered in Esta
cada Tuesday, having come to
town early that day to sell their
¡ wool to several buyers, who had
i agreed to bid in all wool offered,
with 35c per pound as a starting
point.
For some reason or other, the,
[ buyers did not live up to their a- ¡
j greement. refusing to pay over
]
Most o f the growers took
! their w ool back home, while a few-
accepted the price offered.
These same buyers are sched
uled to bid in wool at Eagle Creek
jin a few days, and as cards have
I already been received by some of
¡ the farmers, stating that 35c
i would be bottom price, many ¡
] growers are watching the out-
¡ come at that point.

Hogs Shipped Wednesday
I »espite a decided drop in the
hog market. Buyer Givens o f Es-
1 tacada shipped two carloads of
hogs and cattle from the Estaca
da yards last Wednesday, paying
:$7.50 f. o. b. tops for hogs. While
this drop in the hog market is felt
by raisers who profited by the re-
i cent high pork market, it leaves
a fair margin o f profit to the
j grower.
