E. H. S. Again Gets Credit Estacada High School again was brought into the lime-light, reflected through its alumnus, Ken Bartlett, now of the U. of 0. athletic team, who last Saturday threw the discus 135 feet, 3 inch es, taking second place against Cole, the crack 0. A. C. w'eight thrower. In as much as 135 feet is far beyond the winning mark as set at the majority of college meets, another year should find Ken, coming near or eclipsing the world’s record of 145. The Community Church Com mittee met last Saturday after noon at the C. I. C. room, where they further investigated and perfected a form of church or ganization. Another ’ meeting will be held during June, when the committee hope to complete their report. Work is merrily going on in Estacada in the grading and fill ing on and Third Broadway Sts., preparatory to the gravelling of the former and hard-surfacing of the latter highway. Also the new steel water main is being laid on Broadway, in place of the old leaky wooden one. Claude W. Devore of Estacada was confined to his home for several days recently, suffering from an attack of malaria, hav ing contracted the disease in California, last year. Hollo Herring, who a month or two ago, bid farewell to all friends in this section and left for New York State, where the contemplated remaining, return ed to Estacada last Saturday, h iving gotten as far east as Chi- ago, then turned about and came back home.
