Correction
An error appeared in the last
issue of the Progress, in stating
that Mr. H. Joyner was a candi
date for the presidency of the
George C. & C. Club, as we are
advised since that he was not.
But for the heavy snow, a fire
which started in the tankhouse
on the Viola Douglass farm Sun
day night, might have spread to
adjoining buildings. The blaze,
which had probably been caused
by attempts early in the day to
thaw out frozen pipes, was dis
covered and extinguished in time
to save all but the roof of the
building.

Overtures were made this week
by Mgr. Edgar Horner of the
c r a c k Springwater basketball
team, to form an Eastern Clack
amas basket ball team, to play in
Estacada, where they would
meet the fastest teams of Port
land and the state.
Mgr. Horner interested the
Progress in his proposition and
it looks as though the maintain
ing of such an organization here,
would be a big benefit to the
town and advertisement for the
community.
It was suggested to start out
with a line up of such well known
basketball warriors a s Edgar,
Fred and Harold Horner of Dodge
and Bob Morton and Milt Evans
of Estacada, with such good men
as John Closner, Sylvester Law-
j
rence and others, as substitutes.
If Eastern Clackamas could be
represented with a team such as
that, it would furnish a Jot of
good sport for the public.
It would cost about $15 to stage
each game in the Estacada Pavil
ion and a hunch of local men
should be gotten together who
will guarantee these expenses,
for an attendance of 60 people
per game, would pay the bill.
Owing to unsettled conditions, |
Earl Kilgore of Springwater can- j
not play.
