After ten days of quietness,
Tuesday morning the Estacada
school again started its usual
commotion of hurrying footsteps,
laughing voices and some study.
With a few exceptions everyone
was here and every teacher in
their class room ready to begin
the new year with hard work.
We are glad to see all the teach
ers back in spite of vacation hap
penings. So far, no students
have been reported as changing
their names during the holidays.
The usual enrollment has been
increased by three new pupils,
Warren McWillis, a Sophomore;
Irvie and May Lovell of N. Da
kota, as Freshmen.
The six debaters, who are to
represent E. H. S. this year spent
Thursday and Friday studying at
the Portland Library. The De
bate will occur January 14. The
subject is proving very interest
ing this year, and everyone, who
is interested in the upbuilding of
our country should come and
hear it.
Whether the housewife is able to do
her marketing direct or by phone, the

ability.
Out of town orders can
be phoned in and delivered by par
cels poct, or if a neighbor is parsing
we will gladly arrange for them to
deliver your package.

The play shed has been equip
ped with travelling rings and
parallel bars. This was done by
Professor Guthrie, who, after
consulting all the lumbermen,
hardware men, plumbers, me-
j chariics and civil engineers in the
1 country, found out what he want-
led and where to “ head in a t.”
I Nevertheless, the design, fin
ish, looks and mechanical prin
ciple of this new apparatus is a
work of art.
