• • “ N eal O f T h e N avy” C om ing M any A u to B u y ers in T c w n M ,rr. Sparks of the Family The atre has completed arrangements to present that spectacular series of films called “ Neal of the Navy.” These films have at tracted the attention of the mo vie fans throughout the country and the local moving picture en thusiasts are to be envied this opportunity. This series will begin Sunday evening, December 19th, and con tinue each Sunday evening fol lowing. The tendencies of the times are to .ay le ming ¡owards the freer discussion and presentation of the sex problems and marital re lations. This removal of the veil of false modesty from sub jects hitherto considered immod est and the teaching of the truths of sex hygiene in its many phas es, is being seriously criticised by some, but where the plain moral is well pointed out, is re ceiving the endorsement of the leading thinkers, writers, educa tors and the majority of the pub lic. Next Sunday night’s photo play, “John Glayde’s Honour,” is a five reel Gold Rooster set of films, cleverly and cleanly point ing out the ever apparent moral, drawn from the experiences of a successful American b u s i n e s s man, who overlooked the claims of and duties towards his beauti ful wife, in the pursuit of his business advancement and per sonal honor. A film of this sort is instruc tive and entertaining to the spec tator, who is sensible enough to grasp the moral depicted and clean enough to overlook the human frailities. It is generally supposed that parties enjoying demonstration rides in automobiles, are contem plating buying machines. If this is true, Bill Underwood, local agent for the new Oakland Six, should sell not less than one gross of these five passenger beauties within the next thirty days, as nearly all of the male inhabitants of Estacada have en joyed a trail spin with Bill, this week. - P. Jocimsen t h e Estacada agent for the 1916 Maxwell ”25” seems to be oblivious of the rainy weather, for with the top and curtains ki place, his classy car looks as comfortable as a closed limousine, Pete claims there is a big advantage in having the curtains drawn and everything snug and tight, for the rival auto dealers cant recognize his pros pective buyer, while on a demon stration spin. J. W. Reed, who has made it possible for Henry Ford to take a European vacation in the inter ests of peace, reports having sold a Ford machine this week to El mer Davis of Garfield. While some of the automobile agents may feel that the present rainy season in not conducive to the sale of cars, they should bear in mind that the rainy weather in no ways interferes with the advertising of their machines or the education of the public as to their merits.
