The Adelphic girls are beginning to realize there is a task before them if they ex pect to compete with the boys. The next program will be by the Websterians November 5th. Thursday evening the Seniors and a portion of the faculty might have been seen, about 6:30, migrating to the South bank of Lake Estacada where they en joyed a moonlight picnic. A bounteous supper was served about a big bon-fire and the evening made merry till 10 P. M. when they returned again to the ordinary routine of life. j Ester Meyers, a former student of E. H. S. visited school Monday. | We are glad Ester has not for- 1 gotten her old schoolmates, but i we wish she could be in school | with us this year. ! Friday evening, Nov. 5th the Sophies will give the annual Reception to the Ereshies Green. A good time is being planned. All of the upper classmen wish they could be Freshies and Sophs again, for one night at least. Because of the number of stu dents in E. U. S., it has been necessary to purchase another Dictionary, so as to enable all students, to have an equal chance in looking up definitions of new words. We are now classed as a "Standard High School". Mrs. George Eilers and baby son o f Portland are staying at the home of her mother, Mrs. N. Scheel of Bissell, where Mr. Eil ers will join them later, to remain for the winter. R. C. Deming and S. I). Dun lop of Garfield are now in Port land. where they will probably remain for the winter, being em ployed there. * Echo W ide, Mrs. Julius Kriegerof Garfield left last week for her former home at Clayton, III., where she will make an extended visit a- mong friends and relatives, prob ably being absent until next February. Estacada, Oregon County’s Rulings Protect Highways In an effort to preserve Clack amas county roads, the county court has ruled that vehicles with a two-inch tire must not carry 6 Reel oyer a one-ton load, and that ve hicles with a three-inch tire, not Featuring Irene Fenwick over a two ton load. No load, under this ruling, shall be over three tons and the speed of trucks Wednesday, November 3rd is limited to eight miles an hour. 7:30 P. M. The ruling was made largely in an effort to regulate automobile - 10c and 15c truck transportation between Admission Portland and Oregon City so as to protect county roads.
