The animal is now confined with the injured leg in a sling and the vet erinarian hopes to effect a com plete healing and junction o f the severed ligaments. Mr. and Mrs. S. E. Wooster and daughter Helen o f Estacada returned Monday from a week’s vacation at the seashore. W. R. Reid o f Garfield has a- gain demonstrated the time sav ing and practicability o f the Sam son Sieve Grip Tractor, by suc cessfully handling a six foot bind er through a twelve acre field of oats and peas, in record time. The field is an especially hilly one, offering an extra strong test, o f the tractor’s pulling power. Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Mills and children o f Carthage, Mo. are visiting at the Dillon home in Estacada for a few days. Born, Wednesday night, to Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bronson o f Estaca da, an eight pound boy. Mrs. A. G. Ames. Mrs. Wm. Underwood, Mrs. Hugh Jones and children o f Estacada left last Wednesday morning for Under wood, Wash, where they will vis it with relatives for a few days. P. F. Standish o f Garfield lost a valuable horse last Saturday. The animal had been sick but a few days and from the symptoms apparently died o f heart disease. Mr. H. J. Oakley o f Sparta, Wisconsin is visiting at the home o f his daughter, Mrs. J. W. Reed o f Estacada. Mr. Oakley is 81 years old and the type o f grand old man who commands the ad miration and respect o f all who meet him. Mr. and Mrs. S. Me Kervaghen o f Portland were the guests last week o f Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Puc kett o f Garfield. The blacksmith shop, formerly owned by John Miller o f Estaca da, has been sold to John For rester o f Portland, who, with Miller will continue the business. Mr. Miller’s family moved to Portland last Thursday where they will make their future home. Esther Anderson o f Boring, formerly o f Garfield, met with an accident last Saturday while playing on a load o f hay, which resulted in the breaking o f her right wrist. Bert H. Finch and family of Estacada are on a vacation with Portland friends at Seaside.
