The Progress office is in receipt
of many complaints against vari
ous things, but the average com
plainant does not care to be quot
ed in the matter, nor will they
allow their names to be printed
in connection with same, so it is
up to the editor to assume the
responsibility.
Several parties have complain
ed about a black cow of vicious
tendencies, which it is alleged
has chased and threatened to
hook children. If this complaint
is justifiable, the cow should at
least be dehorned, and if that
does not help, the authorities
should impound the animal.
There is also a well in the lot
on the corner of 2nd and Currin
streets, which while having a
coping of worn boards, is open at
the top and is a constant tempta
tion to the neighboring children,
who are playing around it and
dropping stones into the water.
This well should be tightly closed,
especially as the property is un
tenanted.

wedding annivsary was celebrat
ed Wednesday evening at the
Kilgore home in Springwater.
Tuesday, August 16th. was the
72nd birthday of Col. J. C. Kil
gore and as the following day
was the 33rd wedding anniver
sary of Mr. and Mrs. Kilgore,
about twenty friends and rela
tives helped celebrate the occas
ion, with feasting, music and
cards.
While Mr. Kilgore is probably
