M. ; Standish o f Garfield and Esta- | cada, I Mrs. Guy Woodle o f Eagle Creek was this week taken to the Good Samaritan hospital in Port land, where she will undergo an operation. Her many friends t hope to hear o f her speedy re- j covery. Arthur Schultz o f Crawfords- | ville, Ind. is spending a month, visiting at the home o f his broth- Í er and sister, Jerome and Miss Flora Schultz o f Garfield. Saturday evening, May 15th, is I the date set for the next concert o f the Springwater chorus, to be j held at the church. The program I will consist o f a "toy symphony’ ’ , solos, instrumental and chorus Í numbers, interspersed with reci tations and other features. The public are cordially invited to be present and with the bettered condition o f the roads, it is likely many Estacada people will attend. Miss Heddin, one o f the teach ers o f the Eagle Creek school, has been forced to return to her home temporarily, owing to ill health and during her absence the kids are having a vacation. P. F. Standish o f Garfield left Thursday morning for a month’s trip in California. While there he expects to visit the expositions, and visit among friends and rela tives. He contemplates dispos ing o f about seven tons o f Esta cada gooseberries on the San Francisco market and generally investigate marketing conditions for future shipments. He will probably visit at Albion, Calif., where for a number o f years he was in charge o f the office o f the Albion Lumber Co. Dr. R. H. Gerard o f Crawfords- ville, Indiana, spent last Sunday as the guest o f Miss Flora and Jerome Schultz o f Garfield. Dr. Gerard is the Supreme Scribe o f the Tribe o f Ben Hur. The Springwater road crew has been working for the past few days on the Sldbley road, plank ing and grading the bad spots. Í
