Gibson, last Friday, April 2nd, after a moil ill's illness. Mrs Meiuke was in her 74th vear and is survived try a daughter, Mrs. H F. Gibson of Barton, and a sister, Mrs. Hans Johnson of George, her husband having died a Hunt eight years ago. The funeral services were held last Monday at the George Church with interment ia the neaiby cell,- etery. Mrs. Meinke was horn in G er many and when 17 years old, came to this country, crossed the plains with her paients and located in California, coming from there to Oregon in the early days. The ceremony, solemnized in the presence of tlie family only, took place at the home of the bride’ s parents, Mr and Mrs. Gus Hanke. Miss Mary Hanke. a sister of the bride, and Roy Smith of Hbtacada. a brother of the groom, attended the couple The bride wore a beautiful gown of white ctepe de cnine and carried a shower bouquet of while carna tions and rose buds. Mr and Mis. Smith are now vis iting among friends and relatives in Springwa'er, and upon their re turn, will make Iheir home in Sher wood where he is employed. His many friends in Estacada and Springwater wish him much future happiness.
