Matthias K ir chem for a long time operated what is now Fisher's Mill aud ground the breadstuffs and feed for a large part of the country, from Oregon City to Sandy. The guests, numbering about twenty, including six brothers aod sisters of Mr. Kirchem, and their families, had a most enjoyable time and departed wishing the host and hostess many happy returns of the day. John Elv of Currinsville was | threatened with a serious attack of appendicitis last Tuesday night, but last reports show that an opera tion may not be necessary at this time. Wm. Hiciobotham. wife and daughter Mildred, Mrs. John Ran dolph and son Byron of Viola, made a week end auto trip to Me Minnville last week, to visit friends. They report the roads in poor con dition in tuanv spots. Mrs. P. M. Wagner of Estacada entertained the Ladies Aid Society of the Christian Church at a "so cial afternoon” on Thursday last. At roll call, each memtier respond ed with a recitation, song or riddle. TLe hostess served a dainty lunch eon, assisted by Mesdames C. L. Allen and O O Bland The presi dent, Mrs Givens, presented each one with a valentine, as a souvenir. Tuesdav of this week, was the 71st birthday of Mrs. Mary Miksch of Estacada. and thirty of her friends gave her a pleasant surprise at the Jones'home The shower of post cards and other tokens of love, will be a sweet memory of the oc casion. Mrs. Theo Harders of George, who has been at the Good Samari tan Hospital in Portland, for the past three weeks, has returned to Estacada, where she is recuperating at the home of her mother, Mrs. R. Panton
