H. F. Higby R E G IS T E R . Mr. T . H . Sherrard, supervisor of Oregon National Forest, is in the mountains inspecting the improve ment work on the upper Clackamas. A new fire station is being built on Mt. Lowe. This station will be equipped with all the latest instru ments for discovering and locating forest fires. Dee W right, government packer, met with quite a painful accident while handling a ferocious mule, known as Dynamite. W right had just succeeded in getting the pack off end had just turned around when the mule reared and struck at him with both feet hitting W right on the foot causing a very painful bruise. There will prob ably be an explosion as soon as W right is able to get arouud. A boy about 13 years old has been wandering around in the mountains for the past two weeks visiting the Ranger stations and sheep camps. He refuses to give his name or tell where lie came from. One of the packers told the hoy that he had come after him; the boy took down the trail on a run and has not been seen since. When last seen his clothing and shoes were worn out. Last week Russ W ilcox saw an old liear and two cubs crossing the Clackamas river near Roaring R iv er Ranger Station. Russ didn't cross the river at this point.
