There seems to be much talk among the people of Estacada and vicinity regarding the building of a canuing factory. In fact at least a dozen farmers have called at the Progress office and discussed the matter and gave their opinion re garding the same. Now iu view of the favorable opinion expressed by all, a canning factory iu Esta cada is not out of the question and il is UP t0 ,he business men of Es- tacada to take it in hand. A few men can lake it upon themselves to call a meeting, invite the whole community iu and discuss the question, and at such a meeting the ways and means may be found to build and operate this establish ment which would mean so much to Estacada and viciuity. Another Success Another one of the occasions which has made the Civic Improve ment Club famous for its success iu eutertainng, was that of Saturday evening. Seventy five tickets were sold for the dance; not as many as on some former occasions of the kind, but enough to make a nice company without being crowded. The Club did rot furnish supper or lunch at this time, but cold, re freshing punch was served free to the dancers. Dancing was discon tinued at 12 o'clock and those who desired lunch got the same at Marchbank's restaurant up town. An enjoyable time is reported.
