Returning from school, Thursday,
Emma Edwards, aged 13, complain
ed of illness and taking to her bed,
expired suddeuly Saturday.
An
attending physician pronounced the
case dropsy, a disease from which
the young girl had suffered for some
time. She was ill of typhoid about
seven years ago and bad not been
in good health since, although she
attended school a part of the time.
Deceased was born at Marysville,
Mo., April 1, 1899 and came with
her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin
Edwards, to Oregon several years
ago. They have lived at Estacada
for some time.
Etnma was well
liked bv her schoolfellows and her
funeral, held at Henthorn's chapel,
Sunday afternoon was attended bv
a large uumber.
Many brought
flowers. The service was conducted
by Rev. W. Givens and the music
was by the Christian church choir.
There survive her the parents and
three brothers and a sister. Inter
ment was at Lone Oak cemetery.
