A t 6:30 the visitors met about the
banquet board at the H otel Estacada,
where an excellent course dinner was
served by Manager Laurry.
Plates
were laid fo r thirty.
The visitors and local committeemen
were alternated about the tables and
during the meal, division was thorough
ly discussed.
The air was, therefore, well cleared
by the time Chairman C . W . Devore o f
the local com mittee
introduced the
speakers. W illiam Sheehan, manager
o f a paper mill, was the first. He com
plimented the town and said with its
power plants, it would not lack for sup
port when it split from the western
part o f the county.
M ajor Noble said he appreciated a
situation which saw the lion and the

E very star added to our flag added

to our state, adds to its wealth
and prosperity,” he concluded.
