may be said of a number of Port

from here along with holdings of
various other sections.
Moreover
whatever compensation is attached
to the sale of lands finds its way
into Estacada channels, another
important item. In listing proper

Schuble Wants to Whack
The Corporations A<?ain
A fair sired crowd heard C. Schu
ble, E. D. Olds and S. O. Dillman,
candidates for representative, dis
cuss their claims for yotes at Boner’ s
theatre last week.
Mr. Schuble,
who is a law partner of Uren the
single tax boomer, denies he be
lieves in Henry George single tax,
but anyhow he doesn’t want to talk
about single tax. He is after the
ft corporations with a hot poker, es
pecially the P. R, L- & P. which
he wants to tax some more on water
power. The especial object of his
attention, at present pays $102,000
of the $500,000 taxes of Clackamas
county. Mr. Dillman opposes sin
gle tax._____ ___

if you are not interested in harness. Do you work well
with your wife in double harness, or does she pull the larger
part of the load? Are you working in single harness? If so,
you are making a sad mistake, Young man, go and select one
of Clackamas county’s fair damsels, ask her if she will join you
in pulliug through life together. Find one that will mate up
well. Then each of you put your necks through the collars
and start out evenly gaited and stretch the tugs good and taut,
and then life will be worth living.
The above is speaking figuratively.
Now getting down
to BRASS TACKS: We want to talk harness.
Until Niagara
Falls and the Clackamas River were harnessed, neither of them
were of any special benefit to mankind. Since the power of
those waters have been utilized — harnessed— they have become
a source of man’ s comfort and profit, You may have as fine a
team as ever one admired.
A thing of beauty, unadorned
beauty. Now why not do with that team what has been done
with the waters herein mentioned, viz; Harness them.
Get
a harness fitting and proper. Get good, practical results from
the strength of your horse. There are harness and harness.
Some are good, some bad, some indifferent, A cheap harness
is an eyesore aud the use of it tends to destroy that amiable
disposition of yours. Yes, we are in the harness business. We
have them for sale. We want to sell them. Want to sell some
of them to you. We want to make that sale right away. Now
throw down this paper, pnt on vour hat and come a running to
our yellow front emporium and select one of our genuine Cali
fornia tanned leather harness, then there will steal across your
peaceful breast a sense of deep rooted satisfaction, such as you
have not felt for many a year.
We now have a harness man who will make anything you
want in the harness line' will also repair your old harness.
Have we made ourselves plain, if not, come around and we
will whisper in your car just what we want you to know.
