Oct. 12 , IVtt r; . T— — *g>^_ We wish to call the attention of j our readers to the importance of the ! display of exhibits in the waitiiu: I room of the P. R L & P. C o ., at First aiul Alder streets, Portland Considerably has been sax! concern ing this exhibit relative to securing proper specimens. So far, the e x hibit is a very creditable one, but in older to maintain this exhibit it will be necessary to continually change the articles used in the dis- play. To the th.Mtsauds of people who will stand and gaze at this exhibit, it alone can tell them of this Wond erful country and of the opportuni ties found here If we maintain this exhibit as it should lie; show ing our vegetables, grains, grasses, fruits, etc., can we estimate the vast amount of good- which w i ll result from it? Or, if we do not make the proper display, what great amount of harm we are doing our country? Therefor, it is of the greatest im portancc that proper specimens for exhibits be supplied the committee in charge, so that the exhibit may at all times 1» a credit to this sec. tion. These specimens can be sup plied by the person who has them The committee wants them. There is but one thing to do, and that is, bring them to the committee. Dr not watt for some one to come aroitad and ask you if you have this 01 that, but bring it in. You are directly interested in every thing that tends to place this country in the eyes of the outside world, there lor you are responsible for the good or harm resulting from it. The •ection has the needed exhibits, consequently it is up to you, per sonallv, to see that what is needed is supplied. Bring your specimens to this office or to the office of the Commercial Club and they will re ceive immediate attention. This matter calls fot instant attention. , Small hogs wanted.
