Reaching The Top
Barney Shocnberger, while re
turning from Estacada to River
Mill on Monday night, dropped a
revolver from the holster in which
he was carrying it; the weapon
struck on the rail and was dis
charged. One of a gang of Greeks
who were following close behind
him was wounded, the ball strik
ing him in the side. He is getting
•long very well at the present time.

Estacada's Commercial Club have
put up some very liberal prizes for
an apple exhibit. Now it is up to
the apple grower of this vicinity to
make it n success. We understand
that the Viola people are going to
make an effort to secure the prizes
and advertise that locality. We
haven't heard from Garfield,' Cur
riusvilte or Springwater but hope
that they will all make good ex
hibits and try and make it a suc
cess. If it is a success this year it
will be a permanent affair and no
doubt will be of great beuefit to the
country.
