Mr. Killendonk has promised the
people around Morrow station a
twenty foot road from Morrow
station to the main road, provided
the said people will put the road in
shape and keep it passable as a
road. Work will be commenced
in about a month provided those
interested in the welfare of our
community will lend a hand. A
meeting will be called later to de

to start work on it and of other
things of interest to the community

The mile of the big land grant of
the Willamette Valley & Cascade
Mountain toad company during the
jiast week to capitalists said to
represent the Hill interests indicate
to many that the reported Pacific
Coast outlet for the Burlington will
liecuuie a realty. It is believed
Hill will build west from Billings,
tlie pre.-enl Uiiuiims, to Boise and
thence westward through Ontario
and across Oregon to Coos Bay
The purchace price of this big land
grant will run up into the millions
If its purchase by Hill can be con

will mean a great development for
Origon for it will open up the most
isolated sections to settlement.
