Three Rescued A f t e r All N ig h t Struggle With Death. Rainier, Or., Dec. 13.— F our young people, re sidents of Maygers, Or., met terrible deaths b y drowning in the Co lumbia river early S unday morning, wh«*n a launch in which they were ri«! ing tu rned tu r tl e a t B u r t o n ’s landing spilling th e p a r t y of seven into the icy cold water. Three of the p a r t y were reseued a f t e r h an g in g to grim death for seven hours, which to them see me like centuries. The dead ar e: Miss Selma Hendrick son, aged 17; Anna Hendrick so n, aged 19; Grace Waud, ag«*d 16, an d Lee B a r ber, aged 20. The rescued ar e: Pearl Proctor, aged 20; F ra n k Kasper, aged 20, an d Amo? Card, aged 19. A p a r ty o f 10 or 12 young people from Maygers, 10 miles west of Rainier, came here S a t u r d a y to spend the even ing at the sk a t in g rink. A f te r the clos ing of the rin k at 10 p.
