And right the day uiust win;

To the citizen of Estacada we
want to say this is the time for
you to stand by your own and your
city's interest. The tuen who are
responsible for the conditions exist
ing and have done not one 10111-
«iK-ndable thinR, should be shown
by your vote that you will not al
low any man, for his own personal
aggrandizement to sacrifice your
interests, to accomplish it without
your protest. It is not enough to
say that some of these men hat e
been and are good men on the
Council. When they stoop to aid
a man work against your interest,
and aid him to do your jxrsonal
and city interest harm, they did
you a greater wrong than the
principle. They helped him do a
thing he could not have done. Our
special election is on Saturday. You
do the rest.

Builds Nice House
Mr. J, A. Upton moved on Mon
day into his new home just on the
outside of the city limits on the
three acre tract he bought from
John Zobrist. Mr. Upton has a
neat looking and comfortable bun-
gelow containing five room* and the
necessary closets. It is plastered
and is being painted now. The
outside is a combination of fancy
siding and shingle finish and when
the finishing touches of the painter
have added their colors to this
home it will be all the family de
sire to make it indeed a pleasant
place. Mr. Upton intends to plant
the acreage to fruit.

Can We Really Better Your Salary?
HAT we can enable tile average worker to increase his earnings is a (act
that has been proved by 17 years of success in so doing. From an “ exper
iment" with one Course of Instruction the I. C. S. has grown to be the
largest educational institution in the world with 308 Courses and a million
students enrolled. The proprietors of this institution (the I. T. Co.) have an
invested capital of nearly 6 million dollars, own ond occupy 5 buildings covering
7 acres of floor space, and have a private printing plant turning’ out 3 1-2 tons
of printed matter per day which is used exclusively by this concern. Over
123,000 I. C. S. students have been awarded Diplomas or have made considerable
progress in the advanced subjects of their Courses;’ 22S,ooo more have completed
mathematics, physics, drawing, and other preliminary subjects with tile assistance
of the faculty of the Schools; and several hundred thousand others without sand
ing in written exercises for correction have successfully pursued their studies from
our unique home-study textbooks.
