Thompson, saloonkeeper at Barton, was arrested last Sunday by Sheriff Beatie for violating the Sunday closing law. Thompson gave cash bail and appeared before Justice Stipp Monday morning and gleaded guilty, paying the minimum fine of $20. The sheriff happened in unexpectedly and found people in the saloon drinking. It looks as though the authorities intend to compel the observance of the Sun day closing law, and are going to give all an opportunity to realize it b -fore being fined heavy. ■ >, Spreads for Tables, Stands & Couches Lace Curtains, Portieres | NEW STOCK & WALL PAPER P A T T E R N S] H.
