GAME
Eagle Creek and Estacada Open
the Season With Fine Playing
Last Sunday’ s game of baseball
brought out nearly 200 spectators
to see the first game between Eagle
Creek and.'Estacada for the Eastern
Clackamas pennant for 1907. The
weather was ideal, and the'players
111 the right spirit for playing. The
Eagle Creek boys came in on the
after dinner car which was late and
the game'soon started.
The home
team had things easy the first half,
which ended 6 to 1, hut the visiting
players got ju the game at this point
and took 7 scores before the close.
The game was remarkable for sev
eral things: the excellent playing of
both nines, the quietness of the en
tire game, and the absence of the
usual jangling between players. It
was a good game from first to last,
and the crowd enjoyed it.
A t the
end the score stood 8 to 11 in favor
of Manager Spark’s nine.
Eagle
Creek has a fine bunch of ball play
ers, who will make a record before
the season closes.
A return game
will take place soon. The players
