ed forth to the Vetsch farm on Monday
evening. About nine ocloclc the stillness
of the evening was broken by a volley of
firearms and the rattle of tin cans. Mr.
Vetsch treated the boys royally, inviting
them into the dining room the table of
which was loaded with good things.

Mrs. Fenton has gone to Gaston, Ore.
to visit with her folks while Mr. Fenton

Chas. Groshong and family have moved
to the old Hillyard place.
Mrs. T. M. Allison has gone on a visit
to Wenatchu, Wash.
Mrs. Oldham has gone on a visii to
Goldendale, Wash.
Mr. Haley has several crews of men
cutting cedar posts.
Palmer is putting on a few more wood
cutters.
Wm. Kee of Cape Horn, Wash, visited
with Roots Saturday and Sunday.
Agent Toepelman of Greshman was in
Boring the other evening.
Wm. Morand found a six and seven
leaf clover last Sunday and another six
leaf on Monday. All coming from the
same bunch on which there were several
four and five leaf clovers.
J W Banhalster of the Oregon & Cali­
fornia Timber Co. expects to get out sev­
eral car loads of pully wood here.

ner and jared the sidewalk. A well
dressed stranger stepped to her side

The Estacada ball club went over
to Ellwood last Sunday and played
a game with the Ellwood boys. It
was the best game yet played, and
came out 4 to 5 for the Ellwood
club. The teams will play here in
