GARFIELD J P Irvin is experiencing an at tack of something akin to erysipelas. Those who have not had coughs or colds the past week are in the mi nority. Mr. and Mrs. Blue of Port land were the guests of H Epperson Sunday, as was also Win. Davis Sr of Garfield. Wm. Davis Jr. and wife were the hosts of an enjoyable party an evening this week. The grange met Saturday with an at tendance of over 60. The following officers were installed for the year, by Deputy Master lid. Bates, Sr: Wm. Holder, W . M .; Chas. Portland and C W Powell of D lyton, were in Boring Friday visiting Mr. Mor- and. The people of Boring are looking forward to Friday evening when there is to be a moving picture entertainment in Root's hall. The school children are planing a val entine box for St Valentine’s Day. The Young People’s Christain Endeav or Society are meeting regularly every ] Thursday. Everyone takes an interest in the work, and good crowds are attend- j ing. There are quite a number of Boring people on the sick list with gripp and colds and those who are i^ot sick are grunting. There are several new crews of wood cutters being put on at the dilferent wood camps for the spring cutting. Mrs Blue of Portland, with her brother was out to see after their farms Sunday. They are Ijoth well pleased with the coun try in and around Garfielif, especially the town of Estacada. Mrs. Lillie Deshayerand son who have l>een visiting relatives and friends in Gar field, went to Oregon City Monday, on their return to lone, Eastern Oregon. Mrs. E. Horner and Mrs. Sarah Pal- mateer have returned from a visit to Mrs. Hamer’s brother-in-law in Washington county. W. A.
