J H Palmateer has purchased a new buggy, and was out trying to captivate the young ladies with it Sunday. While returning home he ran over a log and stump and was thrown out. Walter Shriner was a guest at the home of W B Lemon, Friday evening A special meeting of the Garfield Grange will l>e held Wednesday ev ening for the purpose of discussing the entertainment soon to to be giv en, and to discuss a proposition re garding a fruit cannery at Estacada. The funeral of Ethel Knight was conducted at Mt. Zion cemetery Sat urday. Many friends were piesent. Mr. Wallace, the teacher of the Tracy school, is seriously ill with pneumonia. John Irwin killed a large specimen of the homed owl, Tuesday morning. Frank Irwin and wife are visiting his parents at Garfield this week. W R Oatfield, real supervisor, has made some needed improvements on onr road to Estacada. He is now opening the Huxley Cazadero road.
