Mrs. J. M. Miller returned to
Maupin Tuesday after having been
at Portland a short time, she having
had a consultation and treatment
for an injury received .ome time
ago while working in a cannery at

of noise producing instruments,
principally among which were tin
cans, old milk buckets and wagon
tires. The occasion was a chari
vari party tendered Harry llauser
and his bride, nee Miss Berta Mat
hews, who. e marriage recently oc
curred. Harry Hauser is the youngest
son of Mr. and Mrs. K. L. Hauser
and is a young man of great popu
larity. He is his father's right
band man in the shcepbusinesn and
w?U make his bride a husband to be
proud of. Mrs. Hauser is a Maupin
young lady, a graduate of the local
High school. She is a daughter of
MV. and Mrs. Ed. Mathews of Tine
Grove and a young lady of many
attainments. That she has chosn
to cast her lot with the young man
from Shady Brook speaks well for
her discernment and their many
friends extend congratulations and
wishes for a long and .happy mar
ried life.

which will add considerable to the
early published hi tory of the sec
tion. Each pupils interested will so
licit data regarding the early his
tory of Tygh Valley and will then
write, as a story, what they have
gleaned. The stories will then be
published in The Maupin Times.
The D. A. R. of the county seat will
jgive a prize for the most meritori
