F. T. Feltch motored to Maupin
on Monday.
Cecil Mayfield, wife, and Crystal
motored to Warm Springs last
Thursday and visited with Nathan
Hill and family. Then they went to
Tumalo, where they visited Mrs.
Mayfield's grandmother, Mrs. Mar
tha Davis, and with Cecil's uncle,
Dudley Mayfield, returning on Sun
day. The sale at Mrs. Bradway's on
Saturday was well attended, not
withstanding that but three day's
noice had been given. F. L. Scott
and wife will live on the place the
coming year. Mrs. Bradway will
live at Wilbur, Oregon, with her
sister, Mrs. Carrie Horney.
H. F. Dodge and son, Frank,
motored to The Dalles last Friday
on bu.iness.
L. F. Scott and wife were at The
Dalles on Saturday last, going there
on business matters.
Mrs. F. Kirshner has been very ill
at her son's home at The Dallec, but
is better at this writing.
Mrs. Bargenholt and daughter,
Cora Jones, were visitors at Smock
last week.
Carl Wrenn and David Ledford,
club members, will attend the stock
thow at Portland next month.
Henry Kramer and family moved
to Hood River last Monday.
. A. J. Kistner and Jim Kistner
have rented the Albert Hill place
and are moving thereto this week.
Albert Hill and family moved to
Tygh Valley Tuesday. Their sons,
Nyal and Vernon, are attending
High school there. Such removals
make great inroads in our schools.
Clyde T. Bonney and wife were
visitors from Tygh Valley to Smock
last Sunday.
S. G. Ledford and Elsa and spend
ing a few days with relatives at
Yakima, Washington.

John Confer and some friends
visited Clear Lake dam last week,
incidently hunting for geese and
ducks on the lake.
Earl Retherford, brother of
Blanche E. Hedin, was married in
Portland last Saturday. His bride
was Miss Velma Hilliard. Earl is
well known to the younger sets of
Maupin and Wapinitia. '
R. W. Richmond is negotiating
with the forest cervice and the
Wapinitia Irrigation company for
permission to make a muskrat farm
at Cedar swamp.
Calvin Burnside and Mr. Weis
beck are widening the tipper road
that leads to the T at the Skyline
trail.
Ed. Mathews and family have
moved to the Burnside place.
The Wapinitia Ladies Aid society
will hold its annual baazar and sale
at Wapinitia on tomorrow night.
Hedin has agreed to come in from
Clear lake camp and cry the sale.
Otis Chastairi is hauling fence
posts from the swamp to his lower
Flat ranch.
