Music by
School 5-Piece Orchestra
The dance floor of the Gymnasium is the only hard
wood floor in Eastern Oregon, being smooth, level
and on a solid foundation, thus making it an ideal
dancing. The H. S. orchestra is composed of stud
ents who know music and who are prepared to play
in a manner to cause all listeners to tap in time.
Come out and thereby assist the students
in installing showers in the Gym.

NOTES FROM MAUPIN SCHOOLS
Ai a result of the contest be-
the Greens were entertained at a
party Friday riieht. Each member
of the Eeds represented an animal,
among which were elephants, tigrers,
leopards and monkeys. They all
acted like monkeys. Several con
tests were put on by the animals,
tuch as chariot races, jumping for
doughnuts, walking a line blind
folded, and eating prunes which
were tied to the end of a string.
The Freshman were initiated at this
time. Mary Greene enjoyed being
a nurse about as well as Haryy
Rutherford enjoyed being a baby.
Tom Slushcr had the honor to
wheel the baby carriage. Alta Chas
tain and Dorothy Davis can truth
fully say they have had a mustache.
Charles Bothwell was in the height of
hii glory when he was told he could
represent the strong man. "Bo" Wil
son ought to wear dresses all of the
time, as he made the "cute:t girl" in
High school. The Freshmen were
all blindfolded and then were treat
ed to a feast of worms and cats'
eyes. After the games refreshments
of ice cream, caV, sandwiches and
lemonade were s?rved. Estel Sto

The Lawn
' (Editorial by Doris Kelly)
Everyone tnjoys a well-kept
lawn. For years our school has
gone without one. With much hard
work and patience trees were made
to grow on the south end of the
school grounds. Then a lawn was
started. Roses border two side of
it. Our lawn has been well cared
for and it is one of the most beauti
ful school lawns in this county.
We, therefore, aid in the protection
of the lawn through interest and
care.
