Many people of this vicinity will remember Mr. John Watson, who was principal of Maupin High school three years ago. Mr. Watson is t'ne Turner boys' coach. They played a good game but our boys were much faster, and therefore proved to De the better team of the two. The number of pupils in the fourth grade was increased to thir teen by Harold vand Mclvan Radte, ages nine and v ten, respectively. Their father, Theodore Radtke, or Washougal, Washington, is employ ed in the Maupin garage. Their teacher, Mrs. Joynt, was glad to get back to work, after spending a very enjoyable holiday vacation, and to find two more children for her classes, the snow from the sidewalks. Miss Richards was not able to ra turn to Maupin in time to teach her regular classes Tuesday because of the trains' delay from The Dalles. The students endeavored to prepare their lessons so as to make thum more interesting when she got here. The Freshmen, with the assistance of LeJah Weberg, a Sophomore, ana Arthur Appling, a Junior, are pre paring to present to the public on Friday, January 13, at the High school auditorium, a farce in three acts, "Promoting Romeo." Between acts the audience will be entertained with a piano solo by Mabel Weberg and by "Two Black Crows.", Miss Tillotson is coaching tne play.
