Little Lorine Brittain wel comed the audience. A short pro gram was rendered under the direc tion of Miss Elliott, after which the Tygh High School Orchestra, under Miss Carmel Woodcock, furnished, music for a delightful dance. Tygh wishes toexpress apprecia tion for the presence at the mixer of some splendid boys and girls from Maupin Bigh. This is the right spirit Tygh is ready always to co operate. Awfully sorry that Mr. Nagel could not attend. We under stand that the principal at Tygh sent him, his teachers, and the students of his school a special invitation. To th best of our knowledge no of ficial notice has thus far been taken of Tygh's challange for two games of football. However, we have heard unofficially that Maupin is planning to play but wish the date pushed back about two weeks. A lot of Interest manifests itself in the games. Mr. Gronewald has scid that he will be delighted to select the officials and himself officiate. One thing is cer tain, the Tygh boys are not afraid. Some notices were received at Tygh advertising the Days of '49. These were very promptly posted conspicuously. Count on us to boost. We do not plan to build ourselves up by tearing other people down. Tygh wishes to give a dance on the last Saturday evening of October and asks Maupin to leave this date open. It would seem that Tygh should have at least' on dance a month unopposed by her' neighbor. "All of a Sudden Peggy" has been chosen as the Sophomore play. This will be given some time during No vember.. Exact date will be an nounced later. This we understand to be real comedy. Do not fail to see it and prepare to hold your sides. Judging from last year's re cord the Tygh boys, and girls can de liver the goods. The Seniors an nounce the selection of "The Whole Town's Talking" as their play for the end of the year. The Freshman play has not been chosen. Probably the FreshmBn will be ready for their play about February or March. Exact dates will be announced in due time. Do not miss these fine plays. Victor went to The Dalles Friday f to have tonsils and adenoids re moved. They will toon be back in school. " ' Opal Herman will enter the first grade this week. Frank Uuris has entered school. Phylia Hanna reports that . he heard a meadow-lark singing last Friday. . Lawrence Gott has returned home from a hunting trip. He wu in a party that killed two deer.
