Frank Brown and family of Two Springs are visitine his wife's sister, Mrs. Cunningham. "Dad" Cole is getting ready for his annual trip to the moun tains. He expects to leave soon. Mrs. Westover was doing busi ness in town Tuesday. E. A. Troutman and family left for the mountains Sunday. He expects to be gone at least a month this time. Kramer and family took advantage of the holiday by fish ing in East lake. "Bill" Staats is driving his Dodge again and with his wife went over to the Tygh Valley celebration Monday. Oliver Itesh and wife tried their luck at East lake during the two days' vacation, going Saturday and returning Tuesday. The editor went down to the river Tuesday evening. Staats, visited at the Staats home a short time Monday evening. They live at Dufur. Walter May and wife from Moro, spent the Fourth of July holiday with the Morrow family at Tygh and the F. C. Butler family in Maupin. Lew Wilhelm went to the Ajb bott ranch on the Flat Tuesday. While there he will erect a sleep ing porch and do other needed carpenter work for Mr. Abbott George McDonald and wfe en joyed the atmosphere Bakeoven district during the Fourth, by vacationing at the home of Mrs. Mack's father, 0. B. Derthick. A team of draft horses wan dered away from the Johnson ranch at Smock last week. Mon day they were taken up by R. W. Richmond and the owners came in for them Tuesday. C. S. Moon (not the moon that shines in a still) and wife were house guests of Mr. and Mrs. VV. H. Staats Friday night while on their way from Portland to Sis ters. Mrs. Moon is a grand niece of Mrs. Staats. -Win. Morrison and wife, the latter former proprietor and pub lisher of The Times, came over from Vancouver the first of the week. Mr. Morrison will make proof on his additional home stead before F, D. Stuart today.
