Halbai'd, who suf fered a third paralytic stroke on Christmas day, was taken to The Dalles by her husband and Johnnv SincIairSunday morning Mrs. Halbard is very low and little hope is entertained for her recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd went to The Dalles Saturday, going there for the purpose of making ar rangements for the care of Mrs. Halbard. Mr. and Mrs West returned Tuesday from their Christmas visit at Dufur. Clyde Flinn and wife have re turned to their government work in the vicinity of Klamath Falls: Del McCoy and family have returned to Klamath Falls, be ing accompanied by Miss Mable Lewis. School sessions were resumed Monday, after the Christmas vacation. " " . Basketball Games The Maupin high school bas ket tos3ers will contest with the Metolius school team in the lo cal gym on Friday evening. The local boys have been doing great work in practice and on Monday night took into camp the fast Tygh team' The Metolius play ers are a fast bunch, but we all expect to see them humbled by the locals in the coming game. The American Legion team is in a position to make the best of them hustle to win. Consistent practice has put each individual player on edge. On Monday night next the Legion aires will play the Wamic team at Tygh. That the outcome will be a win for the Maupin team goes without saying.
