Homo OHice: "M'Si Huston Muck, Minneapolis, Minn. urday, Mrs Davis a guest at her son's home and the lstter visited with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Widdell at their charming home in Glen haven, a suberb of Portland. Going from Portland to Oorvalhs passing through Salem and other towns up the valley, Iraving by stage to Corvallis where they were met at the stage station by their brother, Jimmie Patison. Thev remained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Patison until Mon dav morning when Mrs. Davis resumed her journey to her home at Grants Pass, the writer re turning to The Dalles by way of Portland where the stage made a stop of two hours, she again was ioined by Mrs. Widdel and her guest, Miss Hilda Norval, who were at the stage station. The writer was enhanced by the charming scenery along the Col umbia highway when frequent stops were made at stage sta tions. Th,e stage was delayed bv the blowout of a tire and did not reach The Dalles until 10 o'clock rj. m. While in Corvallis Mr. and Mrs. Patison took their euests to the historic town of Philomath where they spent a pleasant afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ezra Wvatt and her daughter. Miss Nettie Wyatt who were pioneer residents of this place, where Mr. Wyatt or ganized and led a Sunday School which was held at the old log house of Mr. and Mrs. J. C Pratt on the creek, the present site now being the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Eubanka in Wamic- Mrs. Wyatt is eighty years old, but has retained her mental faculties and eas a won derful memory, and spoke of many interesting incidents of the early days here. Mrs.-Kodgers has man friends here and adjoining places where she is favorably known as a young woman of talent and ability who will wish her a lon. lite of hapines3. The bridegroom is a stranger here but is known to be a young man of worth and business reputation. He is of Spanish descent and the name Kodgers would sound like Kodre- ques in the Spanish pronouncja tion. Nh celebration was made here the Fourth. The writer returned Monday of last week from a trip to the Willamette valley, accompanying her sister, Mrs. Jennie Davis who spent ten davs with her in The Dalles.
