They meet with Mrs. Buzan three eve nings a week to review arith metic, spelling, and language. During the last three weeks Harold McDonald has lost his short trousers and 10 pounds, Jesse Crabtree has grown as thin as a rail, Earl Greene's nerves are so shattered he is un able to sleep at nights, but makes up for it in the morning and Florence Philmlee even for gets to put on powder and rouge occasionally, so absorbed is she in her work. Lawerence Harp ham is the only one who lives on placedly, he has actually added twenty pounds to his weight. The eight grade are finishing their Oregon History, and are to be graded on a composition of it. The advanced grade room had an attendance of 99 per cent this month. Those of the seventh and eighth grades on the Roll of Honor are; Earl Green, Jesse Crabtree, Harold McDonald, Florence Philmlee, Andrew Crab tree, Estel Stovall, Lloyd Talcott MeWin Jory,. Delia Sprouse and Crystal Stuart. The seventh grade have finish ed the physical maps of Oregon, and are now beginning their poli tical maps and expect to finish them by next week and take a test on Oregon. Ailene Greene of Miss Haugens room is out for awhile, she is chief cook for the road gang. The pupils in Miss . Haugen's room are writing a newspaper on the Revolutionary War. Supt. Gronewald was at the grade schools and talked about the clubs that have been organiz ed for some time. The Poultry club, the Cooking club, the Gar den club and the Sewing have been making good progress. The Poultry club hasten mem bers, the officers are; Lawerence Harpham, president, Harold Mc Donald, vice president, and Earl Green secretary. Melvin Jory gave the club the proud name of "Scratchers." The primary room has just completed the Ugly Duckling poster which is the prettiest poster made this year. Those neither absent nor tardy from the primary room are; Charlie Pierce, Wendell Lindley, Dorothy Harpham, Arden Locke Greathe Turner, Laco Greene, Philip Stockton, LeRoy Miller, Genevive Allen, Thelma Morris, Irene Woodcock, Bernice Hollis, Jerry Buzan, Henry Harpham, Jimmie Agidius, Herbert Kramer and Ralph Kaiser. Conroy, 80 years old, died this morning at a Portland hospital, after an extened illness Mr. Conroy came to Wasco coun ty from Ireland eight years ago. He is survived by six brothers and fou sisters, as follows: A. J.. P. H , P. H P. E., and Thomas Conroy of Shaniko. Steve Conroy of Ontario; Mrs. William Head of Tygh Valley, Mrs. Mary Con roy, in Massachusetts, and two sisters residing in Ireland.
