DeCamp who is in The Ddlles receiving medical treatment is much improved and expects to return home in about three weeks. Mr. J. M. Conklin has returned from Portland after a few days visit. Mrs. Sarah Darnall arrived from Dufur yesterday to visit at the home of her father who is ill Mrs. G. L. Harpham and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Miller came out from The Dalles Sunday for a few days visit with relatives. Work is progressing raj idly on Shattuck's new house. R. Johnson's new houso is being plastered and painted this week. Chas. Pierce is nursing a dis located wrist. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Driver and little Lyle were Maupin visit ors Wednesday. Carl Pratt has gone to his home stead in southern Oregon. Don Miller is carrying the mail while he is away. was unable to run the mile race at the mid Columbia track meet last Saturday. Claude Jones broke his truck down trying to out run the Tygh Valley speed cop. The irrigation ditch has been repaired and is now carrying a full head of water. The White River school gave" an entertainment Friday the last day of school, which proved to be a success. Roy Baxter's mule (motor cycle) bucked him off and walk ed on him while riding about Maupin Monday morning, Tygh News Elna Burlingame just returned from Fair View where he has been visiting his uncle John Burlingame. Big rush in the auto business, Hugh Woods sold four cars last week. Budge Jones sold his garage to Woods and Keddington. Jones is now sporting a new Star car. C. B. Dahl broke his hand last Sunday while practicing defense in the manly art. The new bridge was completed and inspected today by the state Highway Inspector. The highway work is coming along fast. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in their sad bereavement. If weather conditions permit shearing will begin at the May's ranch May the fifth. After an interval of several months we were again surprised to see the beaming countenance of Dad Coale in the Hotel Lobby at this place. . Mrs. Ralph Hallyburton of The Dalles cams out Monday to Fargher where Mr. Hallyburton is employed- They will reside there during the summer. Wapinitia R. W. and R. E. Richmond and families came up from Mau pin and visited at the parsonage on Sunday. Mr. and Mr3. Andrew Booth and baby daughter are over from Wamic and stopping at the J. M. Powell home. Fred -Laughlin was in Maupin early Sunday morning. Miss Anna Toole Pine Grove teacher left for her home at St. Johns on Sunday. Batty-Powell school has closed and their teacher Miss Lillian Lusk left for her home ;n Hood River on Thursday. Ella Shipfliri was an overnight guest at the Burnside home on Friday. Mrs. W. 0. Wilson has return ed from a trip to Hood River and The Dalles. Chas. Gabel and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Sam Brown. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Sharpe were visiting at Geo. Smiths last Sunday. Ernie Endersby was a Maupin visitor Saturday. Ishom West drove to The Dal les Saturday, taking Prof. Lloyd Poy and Loyd Woodside with him to attend the track meet. They returned Sunday having spent the night at Dufur. Mrs. P. W. Lloyd and children visited at 0' Briens Saturday. Rev. Parker and family spent Sunday afternoon at Burnsides in Pine Grove. Mr- and Mrs. Scott who have been visiting et E. M. Hartmans returned to their home at Scott's Mills on Saturday. Mrs. Scott is a sister of E. M. Hartman. Dr. Stovall and family were up from Maupin Wednesday eve ning. John Boen has built a small house near Heitz mill and moved his family there so he can work in the mill. Jeannette Burnside was a Sun day guest of Lucile Walters. Bert Hammer and family went to Smock last Sunday where they vifiited the Berry family who have moved to Portland this week Wapinitia Sunday School at tendance was 80 and Pine Grove had CO. N. G. Magill has treated his car to a thorough cleaning and new paint, pity is, the roads are not better to make his work worth while. L. J. Root came from The Dal les on Wednesday evening to spend a few days with his daugh ter, Mrs. J. W. Farlow and family. Messers Feltch and Bradway attended the meeting of the Wamic Cattle Association on Saturday P. M. District forester Mr. Hon of Dufur was present. A. H. Berry exchanged his property here for that of E. H. Hart of Lents Oregon who took possession on Monday. Orin Farlow came home on Saturday and with his brother Willis attended the meeting at Wamic of the cattle association. S. G. Ledford made a business trip to Tygh on Saturday. F. M. Driver and wife of Wamic were visitors at the J. E. Woodcock home on Sunday. Born to Mr. and Mrs. John Cervin April 27, a ten pound boy Sunday School is progressing finely under the supervision of Mrs. Edith Hill; Mr. Root of The Dalles and Miss Vina Ayres were visitors last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Mac Mayfield spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Mark Arnett and femily south of Wapinitia. I. T. Courtright of Friend made a business trip to Smock on Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Farlow and Helen visited Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hill on Sunday afternoon. Chester Bargenholt who is working on the state highway in Sherman Co was injured last week and taken to the Wasco hospital, no particulars are known but it is to be hoped that the hurt is not serious.
