J. M. Powell who has been
sick in bed is again able to be

Elsie Lewis was a week end
guest of Crystal Hartman and
Mrs. Gray.
Harvey Morrif payed this place
a visit recently.
Ted Endersby and family spent
Sunday with Mrs. Julia Endersby
Ben Forman purchased a new
Fordson Tractor last week.
Marion O'Brien is unable to
attend school as he is ill.
A number of Wapinitia folks
have been busy recently fixing
at the Kelly Cemetery. The
badgers are doing much damage.
Orval Flinn and a friend were
in our midst the first of the week
Roy Batty was selling veal in
Wapinitia last Saturday.
Communion Service at -the
church next Sunday. Let all
members be present.
Frank Batty and family spent
Sunday at Pine Grove and were
dinner guests of the Hedins.
There will be a basket dinner
at Pine Grove after Sunday
School next Sunday. The Reds
will entertain the Blues.
A large representative of local
folks attended the track meet at
Tygh Valley Saturday.
P. W. LToyd and family, Fred
Hornquist and family and a
number of young people went
to the grove after church Sunday
to enjoy a picnic lunch.
Alva Hammer is absent from
school this week because of sick
ness. Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Woodside
were pleased to have their child
ren and grand children with them
on Sunday.
Louie Comini of The Dalles
was in Wapinitia on Wednesday.
Nathan Hill has gone to Port
land on business. Mrs. Hill and
children are visiting with rela
tives on Smock.
There were 67 present a Wapi
nitia Sunday School Sunday and
40 present at Pine Grove.
The Dentist from Maupin will
be at Wapinitia at the McCoy
hotel next Monday April 23, for
one week.-
on the county roads.
The new bridge across White
river at Tygh Valley has been
cempleted and ready for travel.
Progress is being made on the
highway in the Butler canyon.
Several camps are located along
the route.
Paul Muller and a party of joy
riders had an accident on the
north approach to the old White
river bribge at Tygh Valley when
Paul drove his car over the em
bankment completely turning it
over. No one in the car was hurt
Mrs. Margie Harper is much
improved from her recent illness
being able to be out again.
B. Wescott was here Tuesday
remaining over night at the
Frank Magill home. He was
here in the interests of the farm
loan. Mr. Wescott witnessed the
rain storm at Lewiston Idaho and
gave a graphic descriptiod of it.
A good crowd attended the
Odd Fellows benefit dance at
Tygh Saturday night.
Mr. and Mrs. Joe Kistner are
home from several weeks stay in
Portland.
Mrs. Lulu Karis and little son
Billy returned to Spokane Wed
nesday after a months stay here
with her father Lon Wing.
The many friends of Verl Mc
Murry and Miss Alynne Parker
are congratulating the youthful
couDle on their adventure to
matrimony, they being married
in The Dalles Wednesday of last
week by Judge Adkinson. .
Johnnv Fitzpatrick was a Dal
les visitor Saturday.
We have had very pleasant
weather here the past week.
baby and Ralph Hallyburton
motored to Maupin Monday.
Mrs. A. Cotey of Portland ar
rived here Saturday and with her
husband is visiting at the W. C.
Lucore home. Mr. Cotey came
here some time ago in hopes that
the climate might benefit his
health.
Lee Jackson brought a load of
potatoes to Sherars Bridge Wednesday.
Mose Webb and family have
been on 'the sick list. All are
improved at this writing.

caught the first trout out of the
river this season at Sherars
Bridge.
A. A. Bonney of Tygh Valley
passed here Saturday morning
to Boise, Idaho, where he is at
tending business matters.
The Dodson bridge gang hav
ing completed their work at Far
gher station on the O. W. R. R.
& N. left for Metolius Monday.
J. S. Taylor, Friend Lucore
and Clarence Nelson have been
building fence on Mr. Taylor's
homestead the past few days.

adjudged and decreed that the

Traxtle, the sum of $548.57,
with interest at 10 per cent per
annum; plus the following sums
